(collectively, the "Sites"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with applicable laws. By accessing or using our Sites, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Oddete is operated from India, and our services are available to users worldwide. If you are accessing our Sites from outside India, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India or other locations where our servers or service providers are located.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
a. Uploaded Files
- When you upload an Instagram ZIP file (expected to contain followers details data, approximately 20MB in size), the file is sent to our backend server hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Run (currently in Mumbai, India; location may change for operational reasons such as cost optimization).
- For files 20MB or smaller: The file is temporarily downloaded, extracted for processing (to identify pending and non-following details), and then deleted immediately after processing. We log the filename for counting purposes and to prevent duplicate processing.
- For files larger than 20MB: The file is stored in GCP Cloud Storage (may change to AWS S3 or other providers in the future). We may optionally collect your Instagram username or email address to facilitate future processing and result delivery. If you skip providing this information, the chances of receiving results are significantly reduced, and failed processes may not provide updates. Stored files are deleted after a reasonable period (e.g., after processing or if no longer needed).
- In case of processing errors: The ZIP file may be stored in AWS S3 for troubleshooting purposes and deleted after a reasonable period.
- Important Note: We expect only Instagram followers details ZIP files. Uploading any other files, sensitive personal data, or non-expected content is at your own risk. We do not solicit or expect sensitive data, and any such uploads will be treated as errored files, potentially stored temporarily for troubleshooting and then deleted. You are solely responsible for ensuring that uploaded files comply with this expectation.
b. User-Provided Information
- Premium Features: On the premium page, we may require Gmail login, and your email address will be stored. You may also upload files (stored in GCP Cloud Storage) and optionally provide your Instagram username for result delivery.
- Newsletter: If you opt-in, we collect your email address to send newsletters. You can opt-out at any time by replying "stop" to any newsletter email.
- Other: Optional Instagram username or email for large file processing or result notifications.
c. Automatically Collected Information
- We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to collect anonymized data about your interactions with our Sites, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and usage patterns.
- We use browser local storage to enable app functionality (e.g., storing temporary session data for a better user experience). This data is stored on your device and not transmitted to us unless part of an upload or interaction.
We do not collect any other personal information unless you voluntarily provide it.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Processing Uploads: To analyze Instagram followers data from uploaded ZIP files and provide results (e.g., pending and non-following details).
- Communication: To send results, updates, or newsletters (if opted-in) via email.
- Improvement and Analytics: Anonymized data from Google Analytics and Ads to improve our Sites, understand usage, and serve relevant ads.
- Troubleshooting: Temporary storage of errored files to diagnose issues.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, or protect our rights.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with service providers (e.g., GCP, AWS) strictly for hosting, storage, and processing needs, under confidentiality agreements.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored on secure servers in India or other locations via GCP and AWS.
- We implement reasonable security measures (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Files and data are deleted after processing or a reasonable retention period (e.g., 30-90 days for stored files, depending on needs).
- Email addresses for newsletters are stored until you opt-out.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- We use cookies and similar technologies via Google Analytics and Ads for analytics and advertising.
- Browser local storage is used for functional purposes only.
- You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect Site functionality.
5. Your Rights
- Access, Correction, Deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at oddete.contact@gmail.com.
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from newsletters by replying "stop." For ads, use Google's opt-out tools.
- GDPR/CCPA Compliance: If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights (e.g., data portability, opt-out of "sales"). We do not "sell" data as defined under these laws. Contact us for requests.
- We will respond to verified requests within applicable timeframes.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Sites are not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. International Transfers
Data may be transferred to India or other countries. We ensure adequate protections (e.g., standard contractual clauses) where required.
